"King of the Dollmakers" is really quite fitting for the Germany-based Kestner, releasing countless bisque beauties to the doll-loving public during its years of operation. This particular girl is an excellent example of the earlier shoulder heads, due to her unmarked bisque; yet, she still has that unmistakable expression which would become characteristic of the Kestner 154 model. She has an especially-lovely complexion, in pale, smooth bisque, pairing well with blue eyes. She is one girl you will not want to pass up!

She has a bisque shoulder head, with great modeling of features: an open mouth with four upper teeth, dimpled chin, feathered dark brown brows, and frosty blue glass sleep eyes, with painted lashes. She wears a sweet blond synthetic wig in a nice style, with luscious waves that come down to the shoulders. She stands at 19" tall, on her original kidskin body. She has pin-jointed, thighs, and knees, and sewn on cloth arms with bisque hands. She wears a pink and yellow dress in a very fine cotton with lace trim and overlay, and a matching pink slip underneath with lace, and a pair of pantaloons. White socks and cream felt shoes adorn her feet.
(handwritten on back of torso) 'Charmante petit ---- a 'Therese' Novembre 4 1905'
CONDITION: Excellent. Lovely creamy bisque with expert painting of features, very crisp modeling, pleasant color, lovely large eyes and a sweet expression. Eyes sleep well. The head is free of hairlines, cracks, chips, or restoration. The bisque is particularly-pale, with a smooth finish and great overall presentation. There is some minor dirt to the plate/shoulders. The body is original, with expected age wear. The arms seem to be recovered, with the original bisque hands, which have no chips or damage. Cloth patches to the toes and calves for reinforcement.
