For the collector interested in a truly pristine piece for their most fashionable lady's trousseau, this beautiful early wrapper will most certainly fit the bill! Constructed out of the finest, most petite blue and white cotton print, and boldly accented with red cotton trim around the collar, cuffs and hem- not to mention the pockets! For all of the tiniest treasures that your dolly needs to stash, the working pockets on this lovely dress will absolutely charm her. But not to be outdone by the functionality of those pockets, the victorian cut of even private sphere garment like this morning wrapper dictated that a train must trail behind the wearer, cutting a most sumptuous silhouette. I am sure that this beautiful garment will be off to it's new home soon!

Condition: Excellent. For its age, this piece is in immaculate condition. Can you imagine a pale cotton fabric making it over 150 years in such lovely condition? There is one small re stitch at one pocket. Otherwise, the piece is in mint condition, from the milk glass buttons to the crimson trimmed train. What a sight to behold! Perfect for the Huret era trousseau of a slightly larger Blampoix girl, or Rohmer. Excellent for china ladies from this early period as well!

*We now ship all of our antique costume pieces in archival, museum quality, acid free tissue paper. We store them in an acid free, climate controlled environment, because we want you to get a textile that has been frozen in time. As curators of these antiques, we want them to be as fresh for the next generation of students and enthusiasts as they were for us. This is factored into the price of our merchandise. We hope you can enjoy these rare finds for years to come, and we want to make sure that when they reach you, they are ready for careful love and display if you so chose, or to be stored in a destruction-free paper. Happy shopping!*
