One of the rarest corsets to come across our stock in a very long time, this exquisite French Poupee corset will absolutely enchant any little lady in need of an expansion in her undergarment collection. It is very uncommon to find signed corsets, and this beauty is marked '2' in a seraph font stamp on the interior, truly noting the quality of it's construction. Wonderfully crafted on an industrial machine, this beautiful cotton twill and net lace corset is an exceptional example of the finest French couturier accessories produced at the height of the 1870's & 80's. Some of the most notable ellements of this particular example include that the lace is almost fully intact, the beautiful grommets are in excellent condition (no pesky rusting) and wonderfully, this very fine corset maintains the original silk ribbon tie! Though in delicate condition, this is extremely rare to find, and just beautifully completes the powder blue coloring of the corset. Perfect for a blue eyed poupee! I have sold out of most of my other fine French accessories from this era, and I know that this beauty will not be here long!
Waist: 8.5"-9.5" Chest: 9.25"-10" Hips: 9.25-10.25" Length of Corset: 4"
Ideal for an 18-21" Poupee, depending on her measurements.
Condition: Excellent overall condition! Especially notable is that the grommets are free of rust, the lace is mostly intact, there is very minimal age wear and color, and the beautiful original net lace construction fabric is 100% intact, free of holes or stains! That said, there is a minor pin hole at the front, only visible when blown up to 120% on the screen, some minor fraying to the edges of the lace trim, and the original ribbon tie is a bit frail, but still useable if you are very careful when lacing it onto your poupee of choice. This miniature is an exquisite piece of fashion history, for it was constructed in the exact same way that lady's bodices were made at this time; this 1/10th scale model would be perfectly usable if scaled up to human size! This particularly precious example will make a welcome addition to any collection. Just delightful!

*We now ship EVERY SINGLE ONE of our antique costume pieces in archival, museum quality, acid free tissue paper. We store them in an acid free, climate controlled environment, because we want you to get a textile that has been frozen in time. As curators of these antiques, we want them to be as fresh for the next generation of students and enthusiasts as they were for us. This is factored into the price of our merchandise. We hope you can enjoy these rare finds for years to come, and we want to make sure that when they reach you, they are ready for careful love and display if you so chose, or to be stored in a destruction-free paper. Happy shopping!*
