She has a wonderful poured wax head on her original kidskin body. Beautiful face with excellent rendering of features. Delicately painted upper and lower lashes surround the inset blue glass eyes, while she has feathered brown flat brows, and a rosy-lipped closed mouth. Her original golden human hair wig is affixed to the head, in tight little curls, affixed with a black velvet ribbon. She has composition hands with molded fingers, and composition lower legs painted purple, with fabulous HIGH HEELS. She stands at 14" tall.
She wears a FABULOUS original silk costume, in a pale powder blue, with a fabulous jacket with functional self covered buttons in the back, long sleeves, with lace cuffs, and black velvet ties at the elbows. She wears an antique bar pin to accessorize. She has a matching skirt, with scalloped layering at the edge. Underneath goes an antique white cotton half slip, and an antique pair of lace-trimmed pantaloons. NOTE, that this girl's costume is 100% antique silk, and is extremely delicate, and since it fits her so tightly, we didn't want to risk removing the jacket, which hugs her arms rather snugly. We only removed the skirt for the photos. My daughter professionally restored the melting silk of the skirt, but there are still some areas of extreme delicacy- however, it will last another 100 years if taken care of properly, and is absolutely cabinet safe if handled gingerly!
Condition: Excellent. Her head and face are in outstanding condition, particularly for a wax doll with so many years behind her! Her face is clear of any deep scratches or chips that might compromise the delicate wax. The original wig holds fast to the head, and looks gorgeous, with a deep goldenrod sheen. The hands have only the slightest wear, but are excellent, as are the feet, with no chips or cracks. Her jacket and skirt have some wearing of the silk -- to be expected from a piece so old. Yet, overall, she is a real beauty, and will look gorgeous in your collection cabinet.
