For the collector of rare, early Papier mache dolls, this sweet lady will be at home in any collection of antique or early dolls. I love her sweet expression and those blue eyes! Wearing a lovely antique costume, she will have you smiling from ear to ear whenever you lay your eyes on her. I personally wouldn't mind keeping her in my personal collection...but it is time for her to move on and find a new home; I know she won't be here long.
She has a papier mache shoulder head, with a nice pleasant expression, and blue paperweight eyes, framed by painted lashes and feathered brows. A delicate closed mouth is blushed, surrounded by two lush cheeks, along with a dimpled chin. She wears her original human hair blond wig, glued down, in curls. She is on her original kidskin body with gusset knees, and straight elbows and gusset thighs. White bisque hands. She stands at 16" tall.
She wears an all antique costume, starting with a white cotton organdy dress with tucking and lace trim and lovely flowery embroidery. Underneath goes a white cotton antique half slip with insertion lace and trim, and a pair of white cotton pantaloons with broderie anglaise. A white cotton lace trim bonnet goes atop her head, while black knit socks and teal oilcloth shoes adorn her feet.
Condition: Excellent. Her papier mache head is very good, with only the most minor of crazing -- not very noticeable. The paint is still rich, and the blush on her detailing remains. Her eyes are lovely and sparkling with life. Her kidskin body has wear to the right shoulder, and areas of patchwork repairo. Bisque hands are good, with only a minor surface chip to the top of the left hand, and a minor firing line to the right hand wrist. Overall, she's a really sweet girl with great presentation.
