An exquisite find, this rare pair of early antique leather gloves will look absolutely fabulous in the trousseau your favorite fashion doll. From c.1865-1870, these gloves are made from a fine terracotta brown leather pelt, with a rich burgundy undertone that features a subtle texture. Delicate white stitching with a scallop edge finishes the pair. Upon close inspection, it becomes evident that these two pieces were on display for most of their life, seen by the slight fading in the leather from overlap of one atop the other. They would look particularly great on a fashion doll with wooden arms, but will bring any suitable fashion doll a unique sense of elegance and presence.
Length: 4.5"; Opening circumference: 3"
Marks: Signed "BACMO MAKE" in interior of left glove
Condition: Excellent. The leather color is still deep and rich, with only slight fading from sun exposure. The stitching is still tight and firm; these gloves clearly were not handled extensively, as they have held up very well over the many years. No tears or rips; leather is intact. These delicate gloves from this transitional era from the Enfantine to the lady doll are an excellent choice for the serious collector and fashion doll connoisseur.

**We now ship EVERY SINGLE ONE of our antique costume pieces in archival, museum quality, acid free tissue paper. We store them in an acid free, climate controlled environment, because we want you to get a textile that has been frozen in time. As curators of these antiques, we want them to be as fresh for the next generation of students and enthusiasts as they were for us. This is factored into the price of our merchandise. We hope you can enjoy these rare finds for years to come, and we want to make sure that when they reach you, they are ready for careful love and display if you so chose, or to be stored in a destruction-free paper. Happy shopping!**
