For the doll that must have it all, we are in love with this delicate coral necklace made of early Victorian coral that has never been dismantled since its creation in the 1870's or 80's. In excellent condition, this piece will truly make a statement on the girl that must be pampered. Like most doll jewelry, this piece is child sized. This is of note, as I once struck up a conversation with an old French woman at the Clignoncourt market in Paris, and she told me that to preserve a child's piece of jewelry (particularly if it was an heirloom or a gift of an older relative,) mothers would keep them safe by placing them on the child's doll. Much of the time, dolls were kept for special ocaisions and only played with on holidays and weekends, so this was an effective method of storing jewelry without worrying that the child would break it before coming of age. I like to think that this was the case with this beautiful necklace as it really is a hard to come by, all original find!
Measurements: 16.5" end to end. It is here modeled on my 28" Incised Depose Jumeau (who was just marked down in our shop, in fact.) It fits her just beautifully, and I think any doll in the 26-45" range would love such a piece.
Condition: Excellent. All of the beads are in great shape. We have washed them carefully, and they are ready for immediate wear!
