Be ready to bring your precious & prized Huret or fashion doll from the cabinet, as we have something she might like to try on. A supple cream wool makes up the body of this fabulous little cape, perfect for the fashion or china lady of your choice. A 14” Biedermeier, for example, would look fashionable and elegant with this cape gracing her shoulders, and would absolutely appreciate being draped in its golden folds. Feather stitching in a sunny ombre thread runs along the borders of the piece, while the edges are delicate scalloped. A small hood sits at the top back, with period-appropriate tangerine ribbon (added later). This precious piece, hailing from the Huret era circa 1850, will make an undeniable fashion statement for both you and your doll of choice.
Shoulder length: 5.5”
Span/arc length: 17”
Condition: The cape is in very good condition, with only some very minor mothing (see photos.) The stitching is intact and firm, and looks lovely. Expected and typical overall age wear. A fantastic piece that will demand the attention of other lovers of early doll fashion.

**We now ship EVERY SINGLE ONE of our antique costume pieces in archival, museum quality, acid free tissue paper. We store them in an acid free, climate controlled environment, because we want you to get a textile that has been frozen in time. As curators of these antiques, we want them to be as fresh for the next generation of students and enthusiasts as they were for us. This is factored into the price of our merchandise. We hope you can enjoy these rare finds for years to come, and we want to make sure that when they reach you, they are ready for careful love and display if you so chose, or to be stored in a destruction-free paper. Happy shopping!** LBS
