Wow, what an exquisite piece we have here. Originating from circa 1878-1882 at the latest, this piece was designed to adorn the earliest of the French Bebe dolls, as first released by Jumeau in 1877. Seeing as how the vast majority of dolls produced at the time were lady fashion dolls, this early piece is a fantastic find for any lover of bisque Bebes, which only grew more and more in popularity after their initial production by the French manufacturer. It's white cotton fabric is soft and sturdy, with beautiful lace trimming along the collar, armholes, and bottom hem. The true beauty of this piece, however, comes from the extraordinarily-constructed lace front, reaching down in a soft point down the middle. Lace trimming with scalloped edge lines the breast, with lace rossette designs and net pattern making up the body, with lovely silk sage green insertion ribbon for that extra level of decoration. A single mother of pearl flat button acts as closure in the back of the neck. This piece is truly gorgeous, and will do well to adorn your favorite big Bebe, especially a darling Jumeau.
Measurements: Length: 16.5" -- Shoulder to Shoulder: 7"
Condition: Pristine all original condition. Minor age wear as to be expected, but truly a wonderful antique piece, hailing from the earliest days of bisque Bebe fashion.
