~As we enter the final week in March, it is time for our third annual Tax Return Sale. First we had papier maches on sale, then china dolls, and now, ladies and gentlemen of the doll world; it is time for the Bisque and Bebe sale of your dreams! From now until April 15th, we will be giving you a very, VERY good opportunity to utilize those tax return dollars with a mark down sale that is TOO BIG for us to do in one sitting, so we will be adding dolls to it in small gasps- starting at the top with our most beloved and extraordinary bebes, down to the sweetest and already affordable German dollies. Come join the doll fun and search Tax Return in our shop to see all the dolls and accessories included in the sale!~
Stunning for the special china lady in your collection, this wonderful half slip boasts more embroidery than I've ever seen on a piece of this period! What is so special about this beauty is the true finesse of the gorgeous hand work that makes it a singular find. Done in the 1880's, when the golden age was just starting to ramp up on decoration, embroidery was the highest form of ornament, before falling slightly out of favor at the end of the decade for lace everywhere. This piece must have taken weeks to make, with thousands of stitches; as everything about it is just so. Your favorite china lady will be fanning her self emphatically when she sees this piece!
*Yes, we would be happy to break payment for this lovely slip into two parts! Just let us know at checkout.*
Condition: Generally excellent! Structually perfect, with only minor foxing. Really a gem of a slip when you think of all the time it took to embroider! And did you take a look at all of that openwork on the second layer? Just incredible! This is a very affordable price for this amount of work, so take advantage before it is gone!

**We now ship EVERY SINGLE ONE of our antique costume pieces in archival, museum quality, acid free tissue paper. We store them in an acid free, climate controlled environment, because we want you to get a textile that has been frozen in time. As curators of these antiques, we want them to be as fresh for the next generation of students and enthusiasts as they were for us. This is factored into the price of our merchandise. We hope you can enjoy these rare finds for years to come, and we want to make sure that when they reach you, they are ready for careful love and display if you so chose, or to be stored in a destruction-free paper. Happy shopping!**
