Particularly precious and absolutely darling, this girl is a wonderful example of the German "Fashion Lady." Created as an answer to the famous French Fashion Ladies, the German fashion dolls were produced by generally by Kestner, Simon and Halbig, and the many companies that created China and Parian ladies with slender bodies and WASP measurements. The success of the German Fashion Doll never reached the peak of the Poupee Peau, but the artisans who worked on them certainly did manage to craft a beautiful selection of girls, prized for their larger faces and more life like proportions than their French counterparts. That said, the build of the of the German fashion ladies from the 1890's (like this girl) was different from the French models in that the bodies were more posable, with more gussets and smaller bisque hands, allowing for greater movement, and less constricting dresses. I adore this Kestner model, as she sports a lovely day dress and has the spiraled blue eyes of an angel. She is a favorite of mine, and I KNOW her new owner will absolutely be enthralled with that face. Who can say no to so precious a piece of history?
*Yes, she is available on layaway, take up to eight months to pay for this sweet girl. Just let us know at checkout that you need time to pay!*
