Wonderful Silk Embellished Fleece Baby Jacket with Tassel Closures and Silk Ribbons c. 1910
It is our pleasure to offer you this superb Edwardian Era bed jacket for a 20-25" baby doll. One of the best pieces of baby clothing in my collection, this cuddly fleece will absolutely delight your little one. Every detail is special here; from the aqua silk edging to the blue and pink woven cord that goes around the waist with those wonderfully plush tassels- how can you go wrong? If it is true that the costume makes the doll, this is one piece I wouldn't want to miss for a larger baby! *Missed the piece you wanted in the sale? Check out our other 67 sale items, over TWENTY of which have been added in the last 24 hours! Rubylane won’t ~officially~ let us add anything else to the tag sale- but we have slashed prices on everything from bonnets to $10,000 bebes! Grab ‘em while they’re still around!*
*Yes, this beauty is available on layaway! Split it into 2-3 payments and make your doll collecting dreams a reality; for what fun is it to only buy little ones, when they are simply WAITING for you to expand their wardrobes in such exciting new ways! Let us know at checkout if you'd like to split the payments.*
Shoulder to Shoulder: 7.5"
Sleeve Length: 3.75"
Cord Length (exclusive of Tassels): 30"
Condition: Excellent. A luxury piece for a luxury baby, this bed jacket was well kept and is as close to mint as I have seen on these lovely pieces. There is one small crack in the silk on one of the waist band holders and a minor stain to the right jacket sleeve edging. There is also some very minor coloring shift/darkening to the right side of the jacket. But this is very minor in normal light- it showed up as far more serious under the studio lights then it does at my desk lights. A truly wonderful piece for the collector interested in adding a special something to their large baby's wardrobe!
**We now ship EVERY SINGLE ONE of our antique costume pieces in archival, museum quality, acid free tissue paper. We store them in an acid free, climate controlled environment, because we want you to get a textile that has been frozen in time. As curators of these antiques, we want them to be as fresh for the next generation of students and enthusiasts as they were for us. This is factored into the price of our merchandise. We hope you can enjoy these rare finds for years to come, and we want to make sure that when they reach you, they are ready for careful love and display if you so chose, or to be stored in a destruction-free paper. Happy shopping!**
