This sweet outfit consists of a dress and jacket. I've never been good at determining the type of fabric used in these antique garments, but will describe it to the best of my ability. The bodice of the dress and the inside of the matching jacket are lined and made of a brown glazed cotton. The pleated skirt and jacket are made of a loosely woven material which has a bit of a nubby texture. It has a plaid pattern in shades of orange, yellow, green and black. The collar and the bottom of the jacket are trimmed in a metallic soutache braided trim which is gold in color. The garments are sewn with a combination of hand and treadle sewing.
There are no large holes, and I don't see any stains. The plaid fabric on both the skirt and the jacket have areas where the threads have separated making the spots appear thinner than the surrounding areas. One of my photos shows what I'm describing here. There are button holes but no buttons on back of the dress.
The mannequin that is shown modeling the dress is 23" tall from shoulder to toe. The measurements of the dress are: 21" shoulder to bottom, 8" shoulder to shoulder, 11" across the chest, and the waist measure 12" across. The jacket measures 9.5" shoulder to shoulder, 12" across the chest, and the sleeves are 7.5" long.
This is a wonderful antique outfit in great condition. It will be perfect for a larger antique doll.
