A very early example of a Victorian era silver plated French Bulldog wearing a buckle collar. This handsome male measures 3 inches by 3 inches and is unmarked. It has a very nice expressive face and I would date it to c.1890 or older. I have never owned this particular model before in 30 years experience so safe to say it is not often seen. It is in nice condition with no chips, dents or dings just the typical loss to the silver plate. I say that because the Victorians were known for polishing their silver plated pieces to a fault with plating loss a common result.
