Fabulous large hand-forged Iron Hoe Currency now mounted on a substantial stand for display. A symbol of wealth, this giant piece of metal currency was one of the heaviest means of exchange by an African blacksmith. A very good example of hand-forged iron currency, these were customary gifts to a bride’s father - 1 hoe and 2 goats in exchange for a wife. Now mounted on a heavy iron base as sculpture, from the early 19th century. Boasting an incredible patina this will be a conversation piece for your home or office.
