This is a beautiful and stunning panel of fabric dating from the late 19th-century France. The blue has teal in it making it what I call Prussian blue, the background is a creamy beige. The detail is amazing and the cotton fabric has a smooth "hand" to it. There is cotton grosgrain ribbon trim down the left leading edge and across the bottom. With 6 casual pleats at the top where rings would have been sewn on for hanging. The fabric has been freshly hand laundered and ready to go.
Measuring: 43" at the top ( 52" across the bottom) x 97" long.
This fabric can be hung as a drapery but would also make fabulous pillows or use for light upholstery projects etc. It can be dressed up or down depending. There are 3 additional panels available, please inquire.
Condition*: There is a tear starting about 50" down from the top and 4" in from the trim on the left side leading edge( see the 7th +8th photos). If you wanted to use this as a drapery a seamstress could cut and reattach the trim making the panel just 4" less wide. There is a seam 16" up from the bottom where it was pieced horizontally at some point, it has fading and several small holes. Typical fading has occurred and small spots, uneven colors, does not detract from the beauty of the piece. I've priced this accordingly. *This fabric is over 100 years old and imperfections occur and signs of age should be expected.
