FABULOUS large and RARE antique copper water kettle pot with a broad copper swivel handle ca.1860. A heavy pot features dovetailed sides with a rolled base and a hinged cover for the spout. The handle is stamped with the # 12. This has been professionally hand polished and lacquered for an enduring finish. Measures: 13 1/2" wide x 10" deep x 13" Tall. There are the typical old restorations where the brass knob connects to the lid and where the spout attaches to the body. Plus several dents of a well used pot, they do not detract from the beauty. In the last 2 photos look at the copper kettle in this painting by Brunel de Neuville---could this be the model for the paintings?
