Unusual Chinese Mud Man figurine, almost like a Diorama, featuring a fisherman on a bluff by a bridge. Features a Chinese Mud Man sitting on the rocks wearing a hat holding a fishing pole(missing)over a green glazed bridge. The mountain formations are rocks joined vertically to mimic the Huangshan mystical magic Yellow Mountain. It is 3 1/4" tall x 3" w x2" thick,( it looks much larger in my photos) so the mud man is only around an inch tall but is fully featured with bushy eye brows, pin hole eyes, long mustache, beard and hair. It is hand formed and glazed in the traditional colors of blue ,yellow and green. He has a small chip on the edge of one foot.
Circa early 20th C. 1910-20. Would be an interesting mix for a collection or bonsai tree. This figurine is in wonderful condition with no cracks or repairs. The side of his hat looks chipped but it is just a kiln effect.
