This beautiful and exquisitely hand made chain is an excellent example of the late Georgian era long muff chain. It features dotted small links individually hand soldered together to form a long, elegant, and uniform chain necklace, finished by its original barrel clasp and push up tongue, very strong and and in good working order.
The chain measures approx. 46 inches, weighs a substantial 52 grams. So you can wear it in one fold, two folds, or even three folds, whichever you feel like it!
The condition is over all very good, no links are crashed, mis-shaped, or teared or worn, only one seems to be a later replacement. The clasp tongue is original and has lost part of its elastic tension, still hold on fine, just needs a bit help to lift the tongue before pushing in.
