A wonderful little 18K yellow gold (unmarked but tested) Georgian mourning jewel with a plaited hair weave under convex crystal.
Beautifully made in black enamel with a fine white enamel edging and beautiful gold inscriptions on the back.
It reads "GEO GROOM OB: 2 APR 1811 AET 66".
Measures approx. 3/4" north to south by 1/2" east to west excludes the bail, with bail it hangs 7/8" from the chain. weight 2.8g.
This kind of little yet extremely fine quality jewelry can only be found in genuine Georgian pieces, would make a wonderful pendent or charm, or a perfect gift to a Georgian or morning jewelry collector!
