This shell cameo depicts a young prince Albert, the husband of Queen Victoria, in a quite rare left facing bust. It is hand carved and the carving is very well executed with loads of details and accurately portrayed the back then very young man, likely from the famous Saulini's workshop and the cameo masters themselves.
Condition is very good, couldn't find any problem, only one faint internal line to the right bottom which is only visible from the back in strong light, this is natural and only mentioned for accuracy.
The T-C pin back works fine and appears to be original, it sticks out of the brooch's body about 3/16 inch which is typically seen in Victorian pieces. The top fold down bail is also in perfect working order.
Measures 2 1/4 inch by 1 1/2 inch, weight a nice 17 grams.
