A stunning pair of Georgian silver and gold rose cut diamond long drop earring, very desirable and highly sought after. They bear no mark but almost certainly are of Dutch or Belgium origin with later replaced screw back (which is probably done around 1900).
They have been tested as solid yellow gold back with solid silver front to house sparkling rose cut diamonds, the tops of the earrings are in the form of a star, small gold link joins onto a gold flower with silver center. This forms the top of the main section - lozenge shaped, with an attractive openwork design, and again a gold flower at the very bottom.
The center section of this lozenge shape has a small hinge at the top, so it swings freely inside the outer section. Total length (from top of star) is approx. 2 inches (50mm). Width 5/8 inches (15mm). Weight 11.9 grams.
In EXCELLENT condition. The screw backs works perfectly and can be easily changed back to wires by a competent jeweler if desired.
