This beauty features a hand carved shell cameo depicts a young lady's profile, dates to 1930s -1940s around the WW II time.
She has all her hair up to show her lovely chin and her elegant neck line, which is further decorated by a pair of dangle earrings. Her head tilts down a bit with her eyes closed or looking downwards. The face is done with great skills and is quite lovely, look at the eyebrow, amazing.
This cameo is line free and damage free, there is a couple of very faint and natural shell growth marks to the upper left corner which is quite common to this type of shell. The pictures show a very narrow gap between the shell and the frame to the right side, that is due to the natural shape and curve of the shell, no broken pieces or cracks or missing shell background.
Set in a sterling silver (marked 925) frame with glittering Marcasite stones to resemble rose cut diamonds, all stones are presented. The pin back is in perfect working order, and you can actually run a chain through the top ring to wear the piece as a pendant.
This is a quite large piece, measures 2-1/4" north to south by 1-3/4" east to west by 3/8" thick, weight a substantial 15.4g.
