I love the design of this brooch. It looks as though a heavy silk rope was tied into a simple, loose knot. At each end of the knot is a tassel. A band of clear, white rhinestones has been wrapped around the top of each tassel.
The brooch measures 2-1/2" wide by 2-1/4" high. It is in very good condition with no missing or dark stones. The clasp is in good working order. The pin stem, however, is bent, but the pin still fastens perfectly.
Craft was a jewelry company that was started by Gene Verri in 1948. Gene Verri worked for Coro for many years as their head designer. In 1975 he left Coro and dedicated his time to his own company. The company was originally called Craftsman and later called Sample Art. Today they are in business as Gem-Craft. It appears that the Craft mark was used during the 1970s.
