Raquel Hurley is a Navajo silversmith about whom very little is known. Her pieces appear to be traditional Southwest motifs. Here, she's crafted a classic Southwest scene - a coyote howling at the moon.
The sterling silver brooch has been hammered to give it a slightly convex, 3D, form. The large, flat moon is made of brass. The features have been incised and then stippled.
It's in lovely condition with only a slight bit of scuffing on the body of the coyote. He measures 1-3/4" high by 1" wide.
On the reverse its marked RLH and Sterling.
