De Nicola jewelry is somewhat rare. Jerry De Nicola opened the business in 1957 and introduced the "real look" in 1962. By 1970, the company was no longer in business. His pieces are well regarded both for the unique designs and the high quality of the materials used.
This ornate and unusual vintage stick pin by De Nicola has intricate detailing and design work set in antiqued brushed gold tone metal. The detailing on the piece makes it look as though it could be an actual copy of a sword from the middle ages. The ornate hilt is encrusted with tiny clear rhinestones. There is even a simulated crest featuring a castle tower just above the stick pin "blade." The clutch is also original to the piece and also shows the intricate detailing used in the rest of the piece.
The pin is approximately 4" high by 1-3/4" wide. It is in lovely condition. The clutch is original to the piece. The pin itself is still straight and sharp. There is a single tiny rhinestone missing from the handle and one on the underside of the handle that has shifted in it's cup.
