This amazing Art Deco necklace/pendant dates back to the early part of the 20th century. The pendant is pear shaped. There is a light engraved, inked design. The design is enhanced with hand set rhinestones. The pendant is on a tightly woven gold color ribbon. There is a single buckle, also with an engraved design and rhinestones on the ribbon. But what makes this piece really unique is the use of a fold over clasp. The findings have been clamped over the ribbon ends, which keeps them from fraying.
The pear and buckle are a red orange or color. The rhinestones are a similar color, but several shades darker.
The piece is in absolutely amazing condition for it's age. There is some adhesive residue on the reverse of the pendant. The ribbon has a bit of wrinkling from long storage. However, it has no visible fraying and no discoloring. There are some pulls in the ribbon that can be felt. The clasp has some light discoloration from age or use.
The pendant measures 2-1/2" by 1-5/8" at it's widest point. The small buckle, or slider, is 3/4" by 5/8". The gold color ribbon is 26" long from end to end and 3/8" wide.
