Juan Guerro is a Navajo silversmith about whom little is known. Most of his work dates from the 1970s. He is possibly from Las Lunas, New Mexico. In this instance, he's crafted a brooch with a classic Southwest scene - a coyote howling at the moon.
The sterling silver brooch has been hammered to give it a slightly convex, 3D, form. The features on the front have been stamped in. It's on lovely condition with only a slight bit of scuffing on the body of the coyote. He measures 2-1/2" high by 1-1/4" wide. It is marked in the reverse Juan Guerro and Sterling.
