Pothuau was an armoured cruiser of the French Navy, named after French admiral and politician Louis Pierre Alexis Pothuau (1815–1882).
In August 1914, at the beginning of World War I, Pothuau was serving in the Mediterranean Sea with 1st Armée Navale, and was stationed off West Africa in 1915. The ship was sent to Egypt in 1916 before being given a refit. Pothuau became a gunnery training ship until she was eventually replaced in this role by Gueydon. Pothuau was decommissioned in November 1927, and broken up from 25 September 1929.
