Scarce Propaganda Postcard from Imperial Austria Period. Lithographed

Decorative, lithographed postcard from ca. 1900. It depicts St. Michael, in front of the houses of parliaments in Wien, raising a sword of fire and defeating a man with a document in his hand – Sprachverordnung. ( language edict ).

The postcard refers to a controversial regulation concerning non German speaking countries of the Austrian Empire.

This topic was hot all the years up to 1939 when the second world war broke out.

Very scarce postcard ( private publication by Ed. Strache ), unused, corner knocks otherwise fine condition.
