Alfred Cossmann was a full member of the Vienna Kuenstlerhaus and a founding member of the Austrian Exlibris Society.
Cossmann was a famous Austrian etcher and engraver as well as worshiped for his drawings. After Alfred Cossmann moved to Vienna in 1885 he took lessons from Professor Karger ( drawing and painting ) and then under Professor William Unger ( etching and engraving techniques ) at the Academy of Fine Arts.
His first exhibition at the beginning of 20th century included fine engravings of figure studies and portraits of King Louis II of Hungary and Beethoven.
