Antique Chinese bronze, so-called “Dian”-hilt, spiked, attractive patina, very decorative.
7,6 x 2,6 inches ( 19,5 x 6 cm), 370 gram.
These weapons appeared at the end of the Warring States period (about 475 BCE to the unification of China under the Qin Dynasty in 221 BCE) and are very popular in early and Mid-West Han until early East Han when they are replaced by iron weapons.
The region these swords have been used is Yunnan to Sichuan and they are certainly confirmed as existing amongst the Dian Kingdom of China's Yunnan province at least.
Very decorative patina with blue azurite and green malachite.
