Attractive old Chinese postcard after a sketch by the Austrian-Jewish artist Friedrich Schiff.
The postcard depicts 2 Chinese coolies rowing a boat.

At the reverse is a square red imprints which refers to use as military mail for this postcard.

Unused, very good condition.

The Jewish artist Friedrich Schiff (1908 – 1968) was an Austrian painter and drawer. In the 1930s he moved to China and became famous in Shanghai for his funny sketches of Chinese life and customs. He was among the most famous painter at this time in Shanghai and even started an own school „School of Applied Art“.
