Hand Sewn Muslin Cotton Primitive Country Rabbit Ornament with Gingham Ties Lace Crochet Button Garland
Made in the 1990s while I was experimenting with doing country items, here's a hand sewn ornament or decoration that I hope will find a good home.
Starting with a Wangs International Cotton Rabbit (C. 1984), I tea dyed the bunny and then added a dress of muslin cotton, lace and crochet. Over the dress is an apron from a vintage piece of a cloth napkin; in the paws is a string garland of buttons and a touch of checkerboard gingham cotton (a bit more of the cotton acts as a ribbon bow for the head).
Height is about 7-1/2" (rabbit alone - the dress adds another 1" of length); width is about 6".
The rabbit can be posed in any number of positions and used at Easter or, if you have a Country Christmas, then as a decoration for the tree.
