Antique Edwardian White Bisque Biscuit Porcelain Pottery Bunny Rabbit with Easter Basket Figure
Dating to the early 1900s or so may I offer this white bisque, biscuit or porcelain figurine of a bunny rabbit standing over a handled basket. Possibly German made though I cannot be sure; possibly an English "penny" purchase (I did purchase the piece in London while on a trip).
Condition: The piece is very old and has a definite "dirty" patina - I have not washed this at all. There is a small nibble to one ear and the black dot eyes are slightly askew. The bottom of the figure has the look of salt/sugar crystals and there is actually a sparkle within the clay. Casting is very nice - very detailed. Design is most unusual.
Hallmarks: None.
Size: Stands 3-1/8" high; length is 2-1/4" with a width at the back of 1-1/8".
Final Comments: This is another piece I have owned myself for about 39 years - I just thought it was delightful.
