Vintage Native American Zuni Sterling Silver Mother of Pearl Turquoise Red Coral Sun Face Cuff Bracelet
Dating to the 1970s or so may I offer this cuff bracelet in the Zuni manner, the front featuring sun faces inlaid with semi-precious stone - white mother of pearl, black onyx, turquoise and red coral. This is a handmade bracelet and the inlay shows all manner of indications that the stones are natural - pock marks, striations and hairlines - the latter due to just plain old age. Condition is, overall, very nice for its age. If I had to guess, I would say the bracelet was put together as quickly as possible in order to fuel the raging demand for Indian Jewelry in the 1970s.
Metal Content: Sterling Silver with no silver marks - metal was acid tested for content. There is, however, a stipple pen engraved mark on the inside of the cuff - either a 9 or a G.
Size: Inner width is 2-1/4"; height from underside of top to back of gap is 1-5/8". Gap measures 1-3/8". Width, north/south, of the top is 1-1/4". Using a fabric tape measure, the top measures 6-1/8" - on the inside, 5-1/8". I guess a size 5 wrist might be the right size. Please note - silver is of a substantial thickness so there is no bend/conformity to the wrist in this cuff.
Weight: A hefty 47.2 grams.
Final Comments: Ready for a new home.
