Antique Engraving The Rape of Lucrece on Onion Skin
A long time ago I found several books with the plays of William Shakespeare. Each book contained original etchings/engravings and I saved all of them thinking I would one day frome the pieces. Well, I never got around to it so here is one of the many I will be listing on Ruby Lane - all unframed!
Subject Matter: The Rape of Lecrece (Shakespeare)
Engraver: Charles Rolls (British, 1800–1857)
Artist: After Henry Corbould (British, London 1787–1844 Robertsbridge, East Sussex)
Medium: Etching and engraving laid down on Onion Skin. The onion skin is laid down on paper.
Dimensions: The onionskin sheet alone measures 5-1/2" x 8" approx.
Condition is very nice though there are a couple of glue spots on the edge of the sheet. The center image is perfect and clean, this area can be framed with perfection.
Even if not marked as such, offers are always welcome on any item in my shop. Buy with Confidence, Robins Nest Midwest has the highest rating attainable on Ruby Lane.
