Vintage Art Deco Crepe Paper Easter Bunny Chenille Wreath Ornament
Found in an estate sale here in St. Louis, may I offer this definite marriage of eras. While the center Art Deco Easter Bunny dates to the 1930s, the chenille wreath dates to the 60s. Normally I would call this a Christmas ornament but the coloring and subject matter definitely suggests either Easter or maybe a Baby Shower. The rabbit at the center is all folded paper, a handpainted face and a bit of glitter - it is stuck to a piece of pale pink chenille which is itself attached to the wreath. The chenille of the wreath feels like 1960s chenille (soft and silky) - later chenille is very coarse.
Condition: Excellent with no problems I can spot save for some specs of dirt on the crepe paper. Very lightweight so would work well just about anywhere.
Size: 2-1/4" high/wide.
Final Comments: I hate to think how long it took to make the bunny by just twisting paper together. I only have the one.
NOTE: If purchasing more than ONE of my ornaments/items, please, just place the order and give me time to amend the postage/insurance to the right amount before paying.
