Vintage Towle Silversmiths Old Colonial Pattern Sterling Silver Pudding Spoon with Faceted Bowl and Ruffles - Monogram P
First produced in 1895 may I offer this silver serving spoon with a faceted bowl and ruffles in the Old Colonial pattern by Towle Silversmiths. The top of the handle is engrave with the initial P. Still produced today, it's hard for me to tell if this is an old piece or new but, those buying silver, should know the difference by the weight of the piece. No monogram. Condition is very nice with a good shine. Being vintage, there are light marks of use, storage and time. The patina is wonderfully warm and I try to only lightly polish for photos. There are no major defects like dings, dents or ugly blemishes that might spoil the beauty of the silver.
Metal Content: Sterling Silver
Hallmarks: 925/1000, Towle Hallmark, STERLING
Size: Length on a straight line is 9-1/16" approx; width at the bowl is 2-7/16".

Final Comments: A hefty bit of silver for the dinner table.
FINAL COMMENTS: When I can, I will beat anyone’s price on RL. I want to turn over the silver inventory quickly so I can keep loading in more. St. Louis was a boom city in the 1800s and the silver inventory here is legendary. For those who know, the 1904 World’s Fair held one of the largest competitions in silver design – all the big maker names of the day competed and a lot of the winning pieces stayed in St. Louis after the Fair ended. So keep watching my listings, I never know what I am going to have week to week – all I know is it will be varied, fabulous and deserving of a good home.
