Antique Edwardian Sterling Silver Yellow Enamel Bon Bon or Confectioners Scoop
Dating to the early 1900s, may I present this silver bon bon, nut or confectioners scoop by The Watson Co. While the handle is yellow enamel (over a guilloche [engine turned] background0, the bottom section of the scoop (shield shaped with piercings) is silver coated with a layer of yellow gold (vermeil).
Condition: Being vintage, there are light marks of use, storage and time including some light spots to the bottom; since giving this piece a hard shine might disrupt the gold overlay, I will leave a full polish to the new owner. The patina to the piece is wonderfully warm - I only lightly polish for photos. There are no major defects like dings, dents or ugly blemishes that might spoil the beauty of the silver.
Metal Content: Sterling Silver
Hallmarks: Watson Co Hallmarks, Sterling
Size: Length on a straight line is 4-1/2"; width at the scoop is 2".
Weight: 24.3 grams
Final Comments: Nobody makes pieces like THIS anymore!
