Vintage Made in Germany Calendar Back Pad - Boy and Girl Sledding, Christmas Scene
Welcome to ROBINS NEST MIDWEST! May I offer….
AGE: C.1930 or so - possibly earlier, possible later
ITEM: Manufactured in Germany, here's a calendar back pad that is Christmas-y in nature. The graphics are of a snowy path near a home. A Dresden paper die cut has been added - a boy pulling a sled which holds a young girl. The scene is clear and coloring is extremely muted - Blues and Browns. The die cut is a rusty brick red over an underlayer of gold. What the maker would do with this piece is attach a calendar at the bottom and sell to the public. The original string hanger is present.
CONDITION: For its age - very, very nice. Light patina of age of course with a couple of light age marks to the right side of the front. No rips, tears, breaks, folds, etc.
HALLMARKS: In pencil - 975/216BN/202
SIZE: The card measures 12-1/2" x 4" approx.
FINAL COMMENTS: It's easy enough to find calendar pages for next year but the sizing might be hard. Still, with modern day technology, calendars can be cut to size to fit this piece.
