VICTORIAN Trade Card - Beach Soap Co. Laundry & Toilet Soap, Man in Dress???
Welcome to ROBINS NEST MIDWEST! May I offer….
AGE: C.1890 or so – give or take
ITEM: A Victorian era Trade Card for Beach Soap Co's Laundry & Toilet Soaps. There is further writing at the bottom but it is the graphic that has me confused. It's NOT a girl, at least to my mind's eye it isn't. It's a gent. But WHY is he fastening a gent's collar over a dress? And, the image of the gent isn't exactly "white white" but more of a swarthy tone. This is just one strange Trade Card. Oh, the bottom writing reads "Beach's ashing Soap, World Soap, Full Value Soap, White Lily Soap, White Pearl Soap, Lawrence & Haverhill, Mass & New York."
CONDITION: Very nice for its age - a dew light marks of age but nothing major. Plain back.
PRINTERS MARKS: None. And yes, the gold background makes it hard to read the writing though you can make it out with a magnifier.
SIZE: 2-3/4" x 4-1/2" approx.
FINAL COMMENTS: I can put an awful lot of paper into one envelope so if you are buying in bulk, please wait for me to amend the invoice before making payment.
Buy with Confidence. ROBINS NEST MIDWEST has the highest rating a shop can attain on Ruby Lane.
RE INTERNATIONAL DELIVERY: Please contact me PRIOR to placing an order to see if I can ship to your country. If I can, I will quote postal rates at that time.
RE LAYAWAY: Yes, I do offer layaway on large purchases – just contact me for my terms.
