Vintage Retro Modern Modernist Norwegian 830 Silver Anitra Pattern Pastry Server by Magnus Asse
Designed by Magnus Asse, Bergen, Norway in the mid 1950s or so, may I offer this silver pastry or pie or cake or petits four server in the Anitra pattern.
Condition: Being vintage, there are light marks of use, storage and time. The patina is wonderfully warm and I try to only lightly polish for photos. There are no major defects like dings, dents or ugly blemishes that might spoil the beauty of the silver. If a high shine is desired, all that’s needed is another polish. For sheer perfection of look, then a professional polish by a jeweler will make the silver gleam!
Metal content: 830 Silver with Hallmarks of IN 830S (Makers Mark for Magnus Asse) NM on the reverse
Size: Length, on a straight line, is 8-5/8"; width, at the serving end, is 2-5/8".
Weight: 58 Grams
Final Comments: A wonderful piece of silver from across the pond. RETAIL TODAY? Well, a dealer on RL has a similar piece at $250.
NOTE: When I can, I will beat anyone’s price on RL. I want to turn over the silver inventory quickly so I can keep loading in more. St. Louis was a boom city in the 1800s and the silver inventory here is legendary. For those who know, the 1904 World’s Fair held one of the largest competitions in silver design – all the big maker names of the day competed and a lot of the winning pieces stayed in St. Louis after the Fair ended. So keep watching my listings, I never know what I am going to have week to week – all I know is it will be varied, fabulous and deserving of a good home.
Even if not marked as such, offers are always welcome on any item in my shop. Buy with Confidence, Robins Nest Midwest has the highest rating attainable on Ruby Lane.
