VICTORIAN Trade Card - Higgins German Laundry Soap, HMS Pinafore

Welcome to ROBINS NEST MIDWEST! May I offer….

AGE: C.1890 or so – give or take

ITEM: A Victorian era Trade Card for Higgins German Laundry Soap. Bearing an image of a little Admiral and 2 ladies, the scene was probably inspired by Gilbert & Sullivan's hit of the day, HMS Pinafore. The front reads ""Whose praise Great Britain always chants, And so do h is cousins and his sisters and his aunts." Higgins German Laundry Soap. Plain back.

CONDITION: Very nice for its age although there is the look of age to the piece and a bit of rippling to the top left corner. The back shows just a touch of paper loss from coming out of a scrap book.

PRINTERS MARKS: None.

SIZE: 3" x 4-1/4" approx.

FINAL COMMENTS: I can put an awful lot of paper into one envelope so if you are buying in bulk, please wait for me to amend the invoice before making payment.
