Vintage Mid Century Art Deco Revival round Floral Barbola Mirror
I don't think there is a lady alive that doesn't like the look of Art Deco Barbola....anything! Be it composition on a box, outside a box, on a frame or mirror, the look is both femmy and shabby chic - besides it fits in well with any decor! So, back in the 1980s when I was traveling to England quite frequently, there was a company that was finally able to reproduce the barbola of days past. The only problem was, the pieces were so popular they always sold out quickly. I managed to retain a few mirrors which I kept for myself and now, I am ready to part with what I have.
Made of composition (plaster) covered in a gold pain, the bottom left and right of this beveled glass mirror features florals in an antique rust and blue coloring. The piece has an easel at the back for placing on a vanity table or desk.
Condition: Very nice. Those little spots you see to the front are just dust particles and the coloring is much darker than my photos as, in using the flash, it made the mirror look a lot lighter than it really is. The back of the frame has a couple of light marks but this happened during the manufacture and is not something that happened after I purchased. All the barbola is intact with no chips or breaks or repairs.
Size: The mirror stands about 7-3/4" high; width is 9-1/2" at the widest part.
Final Comments: Don't worry, I will pack well for travel so that the piece arrives intact.
