Vintage Estate 18K Gold Black Onyx Citrine Diamond Pierced Earrings
Dating to the mid 1980s or so may I offer this pair of yellow gold earrings - claw like in appearance - featuring a faceted oval citrine surrounded by black onyx and featuring a row of diamonds towards the bottom. The earrings are for pierced ears and are posts with omega backs. Condition is excellent with no problems I can spot. The posts are of an interesting design, they hang from a ring at the back so that when the earring is placed in the hole on the ear, the citrine portion of the earring sits right on the lobe - rather than hanging and dangling. Of course if the new owner wishes the post to be moved, it can be done but would have to be done by a jeweler.
Metal Content: 14K Gold with Hallmarks of 14K on the bar to the omega.
Citrine: Each stone measures 8mm x 6.5mm (1.25CT each).
Diamonds: There are 5 diamonds to each bar. Each diamond measures 1.5mm (1.5 points) for a total carat weight of .15CT TW to the pair. Grading is SI1 with G-H color.
Size: On a straight line, top to bottom measures 1"; width is 9/16" at the widest part.
Weight: 7.9 grams for each earring - these are definite BLING pieces - big and BOLD!
Final Comments: Fabulous! And if you want to know what I mean about a great price - well, the gold in the earrings would scrap out at about $635 - the diamonds would cost about $200 wholesale and the citines? Well, a few bob anyway. Then multiply all of that about 5 or 6 times and you'd get a retail price. Ouch! I'm practically giving these beauties away!
NOTE: This item is subject to prior sale so please contact me before putting it into your basket so that I can make sure it is still available. As of 12/1/18, the earrings are still available!
