VICTORIAN Cabinet Photo - Grandma with Her Grandchildren

Welcome to ROBINS NEST MIDWEST! May I offer….

AGE: C.1900 or so

ITEM: A sepia photographic image laid down on a cardboard back with the signature of the photographer at the bottom right. The image depicts Grandma (dressed in black and wearing eyeglasses) with her grandchildren - an elder granddaughter with a large white bow in her hair, wearing a cotton eyelit dress with a silk belt upon which are 2 ribbonwork sprays. The young girl also wears a chain necklace suspending a heart as well as a signet ring with stone. The other child, at first glance, could possibly be a boy - dresses were still the fashion in dressing boys. However, on close inspection, the child does have a chain around her neck and wears a ring, so the child is most likely a girl.

CONDITION: Perfect image - the board has a bit of aging all around the edge and some small stains. The original onion skin is present but has disconnected from the board.

HALLMARKS: Signed Signature - looks like Massilli.

SIZE: The card measures 9-3/4" x 7" Image size is 5-1/2" x 4".
