ART DECO Souvenir Figure - Stand Up, Sailor, Bugle, Toy, Handmade

AGE: C.1930 to 1950 - hard to say exactly.

ITEM: More than likely from Europe, here's a handmade wooden souvenir figure - figurine of a little boy (possibly girl)_ dressed as a sailor. He/she is made of wooden beads, has a hand painted face, wears a blue wood bead hat, a cardboard collar and carries a lead bugle - gold on one side and lead color on the other. The figure stands on a wood base and has been put together with wire.

CONDITION: Very nice for its age - just age appropriate dust and light wear.

HALLMARKS: None though the bugle appears to have a mark that has disintegrated. It does look like it might be JAPAN but I am not sure.

SIZE: Stands about 3" high and is 1-1/2" wide at the base.

FINAL COMMENTS: Just too cute (and look for the other 2 I currently have on offer). Display or recreate - this is a great pattern to use up all those wooden beads that everyone seems to have in their bead box.
