Vintage Art Deco 14K Rose Gold 9.25 CT TW Synthetic Alexandrite Drop Earrings
Dating to the 1930s or so (Art Deco period) may I offer this pair of rose gold drop earrings, screwbacks, with a florette at the top, a star at the center, and a big faceted synthetic Alexandrite at the bottom. When I purchased the earrings, I was told that the stone was Alexandrite - more than likely synthetic, but still, in essence, the same stone be it by Mother Nature or Lab Created. I tested each stone with my Presidium and each went into the "RUBY" section of my tester. Since Alexandrite is NOT on my tester, I am assuming that the RUBY section is where an Alexandrite would lie when tested. Anyway, the stone is very purple and full of FLASH ranging from light purple to dark purple (with the look of sapphiret at times). Condition is excellent with no problems I can spot. Screw mechanisms work as they should. Conversion to pierced earrings would be pretty easy for any jeweler to do.
Metal Content: 14K Gold with a Hallmark of 14K H which means the earrings are American manufactured.
Size: From top of flower to bottom of stone measures 1-5/8"; width at the widest point is 1/2". Stones measure 11mm (4.75 Carats each) -- that's 9.25CT TW of gemstone!
Weight: 6.8 grams combined
Final Comments: Just swinging drop beauties!
