Ornate Herbert Hooijkaas Dutch Silver Plate Tea Strainer - Milkmaid Cherub Crown Windmills
Dating to the 1930s to 1960s or so, may I offer this silverplate tea strainer that hails from Holland - master silversmith Herbert Hooijkaas to be more precise. Depicting a milk maid at the top, the design on the stem also includes a crown as well as a cherib - putti - angel. Around the rim of the strainer is a lot of leafy foliage as well as 2 panels depicting scenes of a windmill in one and a lake scene with boat in the other. Condition is very fine with no problems I can spot other than a touch of wear to the milkmaid's nose. This piece HAS been used!
Metal Content is silver plate with 3 hallmarks to the reverse - one I cannot make out, HH (for Herbert Hooijkaas) and 90 (denoting silverplate content).
The strainer measures 5" long x 3" at the strainer's rim. Depth is about 7/8". Weight is 39 grams.
Final Comments: Gorgeous!
